Lauren S. Howard, MPH RDN CD, is a registered dietitian nutritionist at Sensibly Sprouted in Seattle, WA. She supports patients with weight management, PCOS, heart health, diabetes-related nutrition, metabolic health, bariatric nutrition, and sustainable behavior change.
Lauren brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to nutrition care. She understands that food is not only essential for health, but also personal, cultural, social, and deeply connected to everyday life. With so much conflicting nutrition information available, she helps patients find a more grounded and realistic approach to food, health, and long-term routines.
Her work centers on Medical Nutrition Therapy, mindful eating, and behavior-focused nutrition counseling. She helps patients build sustainable food rhythms that support their health needs, preferences, values, and quality of life. Rather than using rigid or one-size-fits-all plans, Lauren works with patients to create practical strategies that feel supportive, flexible, and realistic.
Lauren has experience in bariatric and metabolic care, including nutrition support for individuals using anti-obesity medications. Drawing from her public health background and training in health behavior, she focuses on understanding the why behind habits and helping patients make changes that fit real-world context.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Dietetics and Master of Public Health in Health Behavior and Health Promotion from The Ohio State University. She has been practicing as a registered dietitian since 2014, with experience in community health centers, military nutrition counseling, and outpatient hospital care with a focus on bariatric nutrition.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys musicals, ice skating, long-distance walking, etymology, art, sunrises and sunsets, gospel, Neo Soul, and R&B music, and meaningful time with family and friends.
Lauren’s care philosophy is centered on collaboration, sustainability, and trust. She believes nutrition care should help people feel more grounded and supported in their relationship with food, not pressured into rigid rules or unrealistic expectations.
She works with patients to build food rhythms that honor their health needs, body cues, preferences, and real-life routines. Her approach combines evidence-based nutrition guidance with mindful eating, behavior change, and practical problem-solving.
For patients working on weight management, PCOS, diabetes-related nutrition, heart health, bariatric nutrition, or metabolic health, Lauren focuses on clarity, compassion, and sustainable progress. Her goal is to help patients feel more confident in their food choices while creating routines that support both physical health and quality of life.
